The Hospital Palliative Care Team, comprising clinical nurse specialists and doctors, work within Southampton General Hospital and provide specialist palliative care advice and support to any hospital team that requests it, seeing patients with a range of life-limiting illnesses. At present it is the Hospital Palliative Care Team who see the widest variety of life-limiting illnesses, providing support to a wide range of doctors and nurses requiring their specialist help.

They provide advice and support for the patient as well as providing clinical advice to medical staff under whose care they are being treated.
